ENJOY!!
I know I enjoyed these mixes.
I got into jungle/dnb because of its relation to the reggae/ragga stuff I used to listen to in the early 90s and these mixes TOTALLY portray that sound.

Knowledge 86

Here’s the lowdown on the latest issue of Knowledge (K86), now available to buy online at www.knowledge.co.uk or in all good newsagents and record shops…
Ed Rush and Optical’s ‘Chameleon’ LP sees them temporarily shedding their role as DJs to tour as part of a live band. Knowledge met the group mid-rehearsal to get the lowdown on this latest evolution of the Virus sound.

Getting a label of the ground is never an easy task. Trying to launch and manage three of them only intensifies that struggle, a fact that Tommie “Plan 9” Emmi and Shawn Patrick Kelley of Cymbalism fame know oh-so-well. We catch up with these busy bods to discuss their unhealthy work rate.

The last time we popped in for a chat with with the San Francisco-based Gridlok he had reached that now-familiar threshold in a producer’s career where it was obvious that the future was about to blow itself wide open in a major way. We look at his journey into the elite circle of new-school producers making it large worldwide.

Anyone who’s tried them will proclaim that long distance relationships just don’t work. We look into Sonic and Silver’s cross continent relationship

“It’s all about believing in what I want to do and believing in my honour.” So says Japanese DJ and producer Makoto about the vibe behind his forthcoming second album, ‘Believe in my Soul’. Knowledge digs deeper.

Tactile / Mindscape member, classical music afficionado, reknowned DJ and all-round ambassador for Hungarian D&B, SKC is about to unleash his debut album on Commercial Suicide. Knowledge finds out more about killing ‘em softly.

Knowledge checks in with Holdtight to find out how a ex-punk rocker, a classically trained pianist, a bongo player for the Happy Mondays and an industy veteran end up making liquid D&B…

In Digital Nation, MJ Cole gives talks to us about compression, Daft Punk and the perfect melody plus we check in with the She Devils to see how they broke they system in under a year by setting up The Lab studios.

We also check out Kubiks and Lomax, Eddy Woo, DJ Redeyes, MC 2Shy, Current Value, MC Messinian, Skream, Foreign Beggars and Milanese plus we peer into the positive artworld of the talented Trickartt. If that isn’t enough then we also have all the latest games, books, websites, news, fashion, cool shit, DJ equipment, clubs, plus all we review the movies and DVD's to keep your probing minds at bay for another month.

Air Gear Vol 2

Air Gear Vol 2 got released today.
Its gotta be some of my favorite manga artwork ever.
Oh! Great just draws some amazing action scenes and s0me great ladies.
The cover was censored a lil by giving Simca pants instead of the chaps & panties of the original.
The Air Gear anime just finished up a few weeks ago and I thought it was a fairly good translation of the anime up until the ending.
It was licensed for release in the US last week by ADV.
I think I just might buy it when it comes out.

Here's the original cover for Air Gear Vol 2:
